LOW BRASS ENSEMBLE

The ASU Low Brass Ensemble is directed by Dr. JD Handshoe and consists of both music majors and non-majors who play trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba. The Low Brass Ensemble performs one concert on-campus each semester and occasionally will also host low brass events and/or guest artists. Additionally, this ensemble will travel some semesters to perform off-campus at festivals, competitions, events, or in schools.

Students in this ensemble gain skills in sight reading, fundamental technique, chamber performance, and performing in all genres and styles of music. Works are performed by one to four players on a part and some semesters will feature major solos from outstanding student(s).

The Low Brass Ensemble is open to anybody. Please contact Dr. Handshoe if you are interested in joining.
